Randy was checking his rye about a week ago. I guess it's like checking a cake in the oven
and you can just tell when it's getting close.
The wheat is close too. There is a little green and the heads aren't bent over yet.
Anyway that is what I was told.
I'm not sure why, but even as a young girl I loved a wheat field. It is so graceful when it sways in the wind, and I think the color has such beautiful shades of gold.
Thanks for visiting my golden part of the country,
Jana
Great pics. I like the wheat against the sky. The blue and gold look so good together. It looks like Randy is going to be extra busy soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracey and yes harvest is very soon. It's always a rush to get it out of the field before any bad weather takes it all.
DeleteGreat shots! When I was growing up I hated harvest cause I was in the field and some of my friends were playing. When you get older you realize what great memories those times were.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean. We had city kids come out to watch harvest and I always wondered what the big deal was. Now I like to go to the field...for a little while and then back to air conditioning.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so beautiful and golden, lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments and wheat makes a beautiful photo
DeleteJana, totally gorgeous pics just loved them. could almost smell it. Boy do we know about the balance of getting a crop in at the right time and beating the weather!! I'll pray for good weather!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the prayers Rose....the weather is looking promising.
DeleteThis is just beautiful...amber waves of grain. I love to look at the wheat move in the wind!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Anita, there is just something about a wheat field that is beautiful. Thanks for the visit and comment
