The middle is always the best..

The middle of the pan is always the best....whether it is brownies, cinnamon rolls, cake or even
hay.

Gloss Mountains

These are the "Gloss Mountains" that are out by where we were checking cows.  I think I am use to        seeing them now, but I still remember the first time I saw them and thought how odd to have a "mountain" rise up right in the middle of the prairie.

and then they look like God just gave them a flattop haircut.

The internet says that they are sometimes called "Glass Mountains" because they have a high Selenite content that mimics shiny glass,

but if you are a local they are always called "Gloss Mountains".....
maybe it is our slang/accent that turned the word glass to gloss?

Either way God did a great job don't ya think?

Thanks for visiting our part of the GLOSS Mountains,

Black & White

The clouds were splitting and looking a little bit dark.

I turned my second photo to black and white and I can hardly tell a difference,
the only thing that changed much was the grass and trees at the bottom of the photo.

It was beautiful because it did bring a little rain.

I found my pickup

I want this ol' pickup.  It has personality....and weeds.....and rust....
and possibly a few animals living in it.

I think it would make a great yard ornament for me.
I know lots of people want a beautiful waterfall or a statue......
not me, I want a rusted pickup.

I suddenly feel like I'm on the Waltons
(some may not know what that is...a TV show that took place during the depression)

Thanks for visiting my part of the rusty country,

And the Thunder Rolls....

We went to the basketball game on Thursday when
Oklahoma City Thunder played San Antonio Spurs.

It was LOUD.....It was CROWDED..... It was FUN.
Thunder along with the cheerleaders were there to entertain us.
Shaq/ Shaquille O'Neal was there for the halftime broadcasting.
Can you tell we were at the right place at the right time.
Charles Barkley was also there.
Yes we were close.  I took both of these guys pictures from my seat.
Here he is showing off his ostrich/alligator cowboy boots, complete with his initials on them,
given to him by our Governor.  They were valued at $1500.  Apparently he was asked if he would prefer to live in Oklahoma City or San Antonio.....he chose OKC and that hasn't gone over well with
 San Antonio's mayor.
At half time there was a bike show.
Sorry they are kind of blurry, but he wouldn't  hold still and I was too far away.
Oh, and did I mention there was a basketball game as well.
AND THUNDER WON!!!!
Final Score 82 to 102.
