Oklahoma Mom

 We have several Scissor-tailed Flycatchers in our area.
 She is a pretty Mom, I have tried several times to catch her long enough for a photo.
 I will show you her babies tomorrow....a face only a Mom could love.

    i love scissor-tails. they have such a happy tune, too. bubbly and springy. :)

    They are impressive when they fly--the OK state bird--I believe. :)

    She is very pretty, and what an incredibly long tail! I love her colours. It is interesting seeing birds we don't get over here.

    It really is one of many advantages and pleasures to our blogger world - being able to see first hand photos of things in general and in this instance this amazing bird that I've not only never seen but never heard of. Wonderful! :)

      It is a great part of blogging, things that to us is "ordinary" to other people they have never seen before. The same thing goes for me when people in far far away places put things on their blog. I love that part of blogging too.

    Great shot, I have tried my hand at birds and that cardinal is the only one I have had success at.

    Jana, this is a beautiful bird and my congrats to you for capturing her in your photos! We have many birds in our yard and even have migratory birds that fly into our area after a trip across the Gulf of Mexico. I have only seen photos of your bird in books - love this shot!

      Thanks for the visit and comments. Birds are hard for me to get a picture of and either we don't have very many varieties or I'm not good at seeing them. I have tried to get several different ones, but not too good of luck.

      They are common around our house, but not so easy to get a shot of, at least not for me....thanks for the visit
