Mom

This is my Mom's high school graduation picture.  I like the picture,
but it 's not how I remember my Mom.
She married my Dad when she was only 16 years old.   They divorced when I was 10 years old and we then moved from a small town in Kansas to California.

Years later, after I moved to Oklahoma, and had children of my own we would go visit her.  This is how I like to remember her, with my kids.  Mom loved to play with them, making mud pies, roasting marshmallows over candles,  letting them have bubble baths by candlelight and even letting them put "paint" all over her patio doors (she would say "it can always be washed off").  She was a fun Grandma and a great Mom.  They were only 3 & 5 years old when she passed away.  I know she would be so proud of them now (that's what Grandma's do, they are ALWAYS proud of their Grandkids)   She has been gone now for 20 years and yet it feels like yesterday.  It is SO hard to loose your Mom and my kids Grandma, she can never be replaced and she is always missed.
Mothers day has never been the same for me without her.

Love & Miss you Mom,
Jana

  1. I love that picture of your mom and Kyler. It seems like yesterday to me too, I can't believe it's been 20 years.

  3. Happy Mothers' Day, Jana. It certainly sounds like your kids had a lot of fun with their Grandma in the short time they had with her. I love the way that grandkids are able to get away with things that we would never have been allowed to do!
