Valentine's Day

I love holidays, you can ask my family, on second thought don't ask....

unless you want to feel better about your own hoarding problems and

Since I have just started blogging I have not had a chance to take pictures of my cards in stages,

but I thought I would show some of my cards from Valentine's Days past...

This is one of the first cards I made.  I cut the mailbox from my Cricut and

embossed the hearts on blue card stock.

For this one I punched the hearts out from a strip of card stock, glittered my punched out hearts with white glitter, then put tape behind the red hearts and put red glitter on the tape.  It is hard to see, but the glitter  really adds a lot.

This one is a very simple card I made for this year.  I just punched out the hearts,

stamped the sentiment and tied a bow.

Easter Wreaths

 I cut cardboard circles for the base.  Mine were 12 inches on the outside and the inside was cut at 9 inches.  If your cardboard is not really heavy, cut 2 circles and glue them together, that is what I had to do to get them firm enough to hold all the eggs.

I used 4 dozen (I know that sounds like a lot, I was surprised too).  I used the iridescent eggs and grass.
It took almost an entire package of grass. I found the eggs at Walmart and the grass at K-Mart.

Using a hot glue gun, glue the eggs on the outside of the wreath first, facing the "fattest" part of the egg on the inside of the wreath.  Do the same with the inside row of eggs. I used a hot glue gun for all of my glueing and it worked great, I don't think mine gets as hot as some might.

On the bottom two rows always face the "top" or skinny part of the egg out.  When both rows are complete add eggs to the top at random.  Leave a gap between the two rows and fill this in with the bow, it needs a place to rest down in.

Wow the light likes these iridescent eggs, it makes them look bright.   

It gets prettier when the grass and bow is added, grass covers a multitude of sins, trust me.  I would poke it in lots of places if I thought it would cover....lets say dimples, anyway...
Just seeing if your paying attention

This is my Vanna White showing us how to poke the grass in.  I just put glue in the "holes" and then took a pencil tip and shoved in some grass to cover up and fill in.

We put grass around the outside, inside and randomly in-between the eggs.  See the big hole between the blue and yellow egg, that is a perfect spot to put some grass and cover up that big hole.  We also gave it a "haircut" when we were thru to even it up a little.

 I made a bow and tied it in.  I like the ribbon with the wire on the edge so that next year after I have stored this I can fluff up the bow again.  I found this ribbon at Hobby Lobby,
 another great friend of mine.  This one has the purple grass.

My wreath hung fine on a wreath hanger that fits over the door, but you could always make a hanger out of ribbon, before securing your bow.  My wreath measures about 15 to 16 inches when finished.  This wreath has the pink grass.

Celebrate You

 This is a birthday card I made with a matching envelope

 I used a stamping up stamp and paper and then glued on the "gems" around the punch outs.

This was for a birthday, I loved these colors.
